Along the Nile and To the Sea

A Unique Destination

Egypt. The land of the pyramids and the Sphinx; a land nourished by the fertile Nile; the Valley of the Kings and Abu Simbel, iconic destinations; the lively spirit of Cairo, and a surprising beach and diving destination!

Ancient History, Architecture and Crystalline Waters

aktiv planet offers educational adventures in the ancient land of the pharaohs, ancient rulers, men and women, who believed themselves Gods. Discover their stories as you enter passageways in the pyramids, explore Thebes, Luxor, Aswan, valleys along the Nile and make time for the hustle and bustle of Cairo's lively bazaars. We suggest a few days on the shores of the Red Sea, swimming, snorkeling, diving in its turquoise waters or simply relaxing on its powdery sand beaches.

These are just a few of the incredible experiences that await you when you discover Egypt with aktiv planet!

As-salaam 'alykum السلام عليكم

I am delighted to tell you how how my love for tourism happened: by "accident" and the best one ever! I was in college, and encouraged to get my tourism license as I love history and speak English and Russian. So I did, and I have been happy since!

I would say that my friends and family would call me:

- strong: I have trust and faith in myself and others

- helpful: I love to lend a hand to people, and in tourism, this is helping my clients throughout their discoveries. I am there for them

- friendly: I love people, and this is good in my business! I love to keep in touch with our visitors to Egypt.

Who is your favorite pharaoh?

What is the one visit not to miss in Egypt?

It is Hatshepsut, Queen & Pharaoh Hatshepsut. She was an incredible woman who truly ruled Egypt successfully and strongly for 20 years. She came to the throne of Egypt in 1478 BC and was one of the most prolific builders in Ancient Egypt, commissioning hundreds of construction projects throughout both in Upper and Lower Egypt.

There are so many places to enjoy, it is hard to choose, but Abu Simbel stands out to me. It is actually two massive temples cut in the rock and located near the border with Sudan.  They serve as a lasting monument to the king Ramesses II (who married Nefertari). Built from 1264 to 1244 BC, it was rediscovered in 1813.

My favorite dish is Koshari. It is our national dish for good reason: it is a delicious combination of comforting ingredients. Koshari is made of rice, macaroni and lentils; it is then topped with chickpeas and crispy fried onions, with an optional spicy tomato sauce and garlic vinegar. There are regional variations: all are excellent!

Egypt has incredible history but also beautiful and relaxing beaches. So I suggest talking to us about combining Cairo (for its pyramids but also its Egyptian Museum and lively bazaars) with a day-trip to Alexandria, a Nile cruise (with stops in Luxor and the Valley of the Kings) and if time permits, an escapade to a resort on the Red Sea for its beaches and crystal clear waters (a must if you scuba dive).

Classic belly dance music

The piece here is associated with Samia Gamal (1924–94), an Egyptian belly dancer and actress, who danced to this music.

On 5 March 2017, Google dedicated a Doodle to the actress for the 93rd anniversary of her birth. The Doodle reached all the countries of the Arab World.
